Students at George Salter Academy are celebrating today after receiving their GCSE results, as they get ready to take their next steps in their education journey.
Senior leaders said it was heartening to see staff, parents and siblings come together to mark the achievements of all the students, who have worked exceptionally hard over the past couple of years to secure these grades.
Alongside the continued success of the Academy, which is sponsored by Ormiston Academies Trust (OAT), some particular individual highlights include:
A special mention to Performing Arts star Chloe Butler who performed brilliantly in the lead role in this year’s musical Hairspray and achieved one grade 7, four grade 5s and five grade fours. She will go on to star in Performing Arts in post 16.
Adrian Price, Principal at George Salter Academy, said:
“Despite the return to 2019 thresholds and post pandemic disruption I am absolutely delighted that our students have achieved so well. Given that higher grades are hard to attain, it so pleasing that the number of students achieving grades 7+ in both English and Maths has increased. It is also impressive that one half of all GCSE grades awarded were grades 5+.
All our students have worked incredibly hard over the past two years, and we are so proud to see them receive such brilliant results. They are hugely deserved, and it is fantastic to see everyone from across the community come together to celebrate their achievements. We wish every student well as they continue their educational journey and look forward to seeing what they all go on to achieve.”
