Big Sleep Out Fundraising Success

Staff and students took part in The Big Sleep Out at Millennium Point in Birmingham on Friday the 3rd December.

16 students from Years 7-11 and 6 members of staff braved the elements, spending the night outside from 6pm to 6am to raise money for an important and essential Birmingham charity, St.Basils.

St Basils works with young people in the Midlands aged 16-25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, to enable them to find and keep a home, grow their confidence, develop their skills, increase opportunities and prevent homelessness.

A huge thank you to the fellow GSA staff who visited throughout the night and the volunteers from Langar Aid who provided much needed hot food to participants.

The group got a slight glimpse of what it could feel like to be homeless and thanks to donations from the local community have raised an amazing £1,160 to help young people in need. A huge well done to everyone involved!
