Hospitality

BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma (equivalent to one A Level)

This is a Level 3 qualification which provides comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the hospitality and catering industry, preparing students with the knowledge and skills to progress to supervisory level roles. This course will equip students with knowledge and experience of the industry together with the skills and attributes required by employers. There is a clear focus on the dynamic nature of the hospitality industry and it will prepare students for employment into the industry through a range of academic and practical skills. Students will study the industry in depth, job roles that are included and cover a range of practical skills, studying cuisines from around the world.

Level 2 NVQ, Diploma or equivalent or Grade C in Catering

Progression routes from this course

Students who study this Hospitality BTEC will have access to a range of higher education opportunities including HND, Foundation Degrees and BA Honour Degrees. Courses may include Culinary Arts Management, Hospitality Management, Events Management and Food Science courses. Employment routes include trainee supervisor, chef, hotel receptionist, trainee hotel manager, food and beverage manager. The type of employers include hotels, restaurants, cruise ships, holiday resorts, conference centres and holiday parks.
