Welcome to the Post-16 pages of the George Salter Academy website.
In these pages you have the opportunity to learn more about us and the benefits of joining us as a Post-16 student.
Our success rates speak for themselves, with 99% of A2 students achieving passes in all their subjects and a proven track record of enabling students to reach their destination, be it the university place of their choice, employment or further training. Click on "Our Successes" to find out more.
Everybody has individual needs and aspirations, and we firmly believe that as a fully inclusive post-16 centre we are able to cater for you. This means offering a range of courses for both Level 2 (GCSE) and Level 3 (AS and A2) students. All students have individual programmes of study to meet their individual needs. Click on "Courses" to discover the full range of courses on offer to students joining Post-16.
The choices ahead of you are extremely important and we appreciate that you are not only interested in the courses that are on offer, but also the care, guidance and support that is in place to give you the very best opportunity to achieve your maximum potential. Look at the pages on "Student Life" where you will find out more about the support offered.
We also appreciate that you will want to take part in a vibrant electives programme, and that you will want extra enrichment opportunities to enhance your CV and broaden your perspective, as well as having your voice heard within the Academy. More information can be found in the "Student Life" pages.
We are going through exciting times at the moment – we have moved to a temporary suite of rooms which we call "The Village", kept only for Post-16 students – but 2013-2014 will be crucial in making decisions on our facilities within the New Build at the Academy. Find out more in the "Facilities" pages of the website.
We belong to "The Post-16 Consortium" - made up of three sixth form centres: George Salter Academy, Bristnall Hall Academy and Ormiston Sandwell Community Academy. This enables students registered at any of our centres the opportunity to study subjects offered elsewhere alongside the subjects offered at their home campus. Transport between each campus is organised to provide safe and reliable movement of all students at no cost.
If you decide to apply to our Sixth Form, visit the "Applying to Post-16" where you will find the application form, a link to "The Post-16 Consortium" prospectus, details of key dates and the open evening and the opportunity to request an individual visit or more information.
