Business

BTEC National Extended Certificate (equivalent to one A Level); BTEC National Diploma (equivalent to two A Levels)

Students will develop a sound understanding of the business world and the range of areas within this subject. Students will be able to explore how a business operates and how Marketing and Finance help a business to achieve their objectives. All tasks are applied to real businesses to allow students to develop skills required to respond to real issues in the business world. The range of assessment methods will allow students to develop exam and assignment response skills.

Entry requirements

A minimum of five GCSEs graded C or above including English and Maths

Progression routes from this course

Students can progress onto degree courses covering a whole range of business areas such as Human Resources, marketing, Accounting and finance, and Business Law.

  • Unit 2: Developing a marketing campaign (controlled coursework)
  • Unit 3: Personal and Business finance
  • Unit 4: Managing an event
  • Unit 5: International business
  • Unit 6: Principles of management
  • Unit 18: Creative promotion
  • Plus optional units such as Law and accounts
