Biology

GCE AS and A Level

GCE Biology is the in-depth study of how living organisms function, survive, adapt, and overcome disease. The course features key principles of Biology such as molecules, cells, organ systems and the ways in which these concepts are used in real life. AS students study Biology and disease, which includes diseases associated with the lungs and heart and they also study how and why living organisms vary, which includes DNA, meiosis, variation, gas exchange and transport. A2 students investigate populations and the environment including ecological techniques, as well as control mechanisms in cells and organisms. Students will be able to link ideas in a synoptic examination by understanding a variety of topics across AS and A2.
